Abraka is a Slovak brand supporting local production and ecological fashion. Our clothes celebrate an active lifestyle and will brighten up everyday life with colorful original designs. Comfort and the impact of production on the environment are a priority when creating collections. We are pleased that with our approach to manufacturing, we can join brands that promote transparency, sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry. Thanks to you, we are also succeeding in raising awareness of ecological fashion, supporting the effort for positive change and creating a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future of fashion.

We care about people and about nature. During production, we are constantly looking for more ecological alternatives. By using recycled materials and local production in Slovakia, we reduce the impact on the environment and thus nature, which we are inspired by.

We sew from materials that are made in Europe. We combine those made from recycled PET bottles, regenerated fishing nets and textile residues from ECONYL® fiber and OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics | STANDARD 100 and Bluesign®. Our materials are soft and comfortable. They have very high opacity and high breathability.

By producing one leggings, we will cleanse nature of about 12 plastic bottles that would otherwise probably end up in a landfill or in the ocean.

What is recycled polyester?

Recycled polyester is simply polyester made from recycled sources: PET bottles, industrial polyester waste and even old clothes. Mechanical recycling uses clear PET bottles that are cleaned, split and then melted and extruded into a fiber. Recycled polyester reduces oil use, reduces waste and reduces the overall carbon footprint. Today, however, only 3 – 10% of polyester fabric production is recycled.

Polyester(PET) vs recycled polyester(RPET)?

Recycled polyester has identical properties as polyester.

90% less water is used to produce recycled polyester than to make polyester. RPET requires 70% less energy in production.Recycled fabrics are a safe alternative to conventional polyesters. The fabric is manufactured with the highest degree of health and safety care, it is tested and certified by the Global Recycle Standard, Oeko-tex.
